I came across this paintbrush near a trailhead for the lava flows in El Malpais National Monument, New Mexico
These pinkish-paintbrush were growing at a lower elevation of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
High up in the Fall River drainage, not far below timberline in Rocky Mountain National Park, I found these deep red paintbrush growing with bistort and some sedges.
