I observe several butterfly species for Nature's Notebook. The latest to show up (first seen on April 27) is the Red Admiral, Vanessa atalanta:

Spring Azures and Eastern-tailed Blues appeared earlier in the spring but I was not able to "catch" any clear images until recently:

I've also seen Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, Eastern Commas, one of the Crescent species, and some white butterflies. These likely are West Virgina Whites. I see a fair number of these in the spring, most often around the wild geraniums, though the holler hosts several toothwort species, the primary food source for this butterfly. I've found them hard to sneak up on for photos, but here's one from 2011:
